The Verbandsgemeindewerke Winnweiler informs the citizens that the boiling ban for parts of Winnweiler and the Hochstein district, which has been in place since September 18, 2025, will be lifted with immediate effect.
The disinfection measures carried out and the continuous monitoring of drinking water quality show that the bacteriological contamination has been completely eliminated. In close coordination with the local health authority, the quality of the drinking water has been confirmed in all respects. The drinking water can therefore be used immediately without any restrictions. No adverse health effects are to be expected. Please also note that chlorinated water is unsuitable for aquariums.
Note:
The precautionary chlorination of drinking water is currently being continued in order to safeguard the drinking water supply in the long term. The dosage used naturally complies with the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance.
