Imsbach Mining Adventure World starts the season on April 19

With family hands-on adventure and time travel

The Imsbach Mining Adventure World starts the season on Sunday, April 19, with the popular family hands-on adventure and a journey through centuries of mining history.
Exciting underground experiences await both young and old. And there are also unique insights into the world of minerals. Demand has exceeded all expectations: The family
hands-on adventure "The Secret of the Mine Treasure" at the Maria Mine in the Imsbach Langental valley was fully booked for two seasons. The good news: because there is still great interest in the popular family program, the two mine explorers are going on another
treasure hunt on five Sundays this year. This is because a story has been told in the mining village for many years: It is said that robbers used to hide in the old Imsbach mines. From time to time, they are even said to have left their loot there because they had to leave the mines
head over heels when they fled. Is this just a fairy tale? Or is there really something to it? And what does an old rag have to do with it? In the family hands-on adventure "The Secret of the Mine Treasure", mine explorer
investigates these stories together with guests young and old. One thing is clear: it will be exciting - and it will be anything but a normal mine tour. Kids can eagerly join in, solve puzzles and try out for themselves how strenuous working in a mine used to be. And sometimes it even gets a little magical...
This hands-on family adventure is especially suitable for children aged five and over and can be booked by calling the Winnweiler municipal administration on 06302/60261.

Regular guided tours at the start of the season
Regular guided tours of the Grube Maria visitor mine are also offered at the start of the season. The mine guides take visitors on a journey through
centuries of mining history. A special feature of the Maria Mine are the two "tunnel floors", one above the other, which are connected by a 15-metre-high shaft
. The pit hut is also open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the start of the season and is catered for by the Imsbach local community support association. Regular guided tours of the mine can also be booked by calling 06302/60261.

Special exhibition at the Palatinate Mining Museum
The Palatinate Mining Museum in the center of Imsbach will also be open on April 19. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., it will not only provide an insight into mining in the Palatinate, but also a fascinating overview of unique minerals from all over the world in the special exhibition
"Terra Crystallum".

Hiking through mining history - ideal for families
Mining on the Donnersberg can not only be explored in the mining museum or on guided tours of the visitor mine - there are also various circular hiking trails that take you on an
exciting journey through time. The hiking trails lead past old mines, with wonderful views and encounters with relics of almost 2,000 years of history in the forests around Imsbach. Thanks to
the information boards, there are always explanations and also a pictorial insight into what was worked and found around Imsbach. Incidentally, the mascot "Gruben-Paul"
explains to young visitors on the boards what mining is all about. Ideal for family hikes.
