Guided "mountain bike energy tour" for bikers aged 50 and over on August 25

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, district forester Dieter Gass, his colleague Franz Kern and Volker Höfli will be offering a guided mountain bike tour across the Sippersfeld forest district.

The tour starts at 10.30 a.m. at Hofgut Neumühle and goes to the Sippersfelder Weiher nature reserve, along the "Steig" to the "Lange Stein". Continue via Breunigweiler and Börrstadt to the Bocksrück wind farm.

Participants have to put in a bit of effort on the guided mountain bike tour (approx. 40 km, approx. 450 m elevation gain); however, the focus is more on the shared activity and less on the sporting challenge. The tour is aimed at bikers aged 50 and over; participation with an e-bike is permitted.

The meeting point is at 10.30 a.m. at Hofgut Neumühle, near Münchweiler an der Alsenz.

At the end of the day, the energy stores are replenished with a game sausage and an isotonic drink around the campfire.

The forest rangers wear their "green jerseys" and participants should always be equipped with a helmet, cycling gloves and a bicycle suitable for off-road use.
Participation costs 10 euros per person (including a snack at the end of the tour).
The minimum number of participants is 10, the maximum 20.
In the event of bad weather, a repeat date will be announced.

The guided mountain bike tour is offered by the Donnersberg forestry office in cooperation with the tourism office of the municipality of Winnweiler.
