Municipal heat planning

On January 29, 2026, the municipality of Winnweiler took an important step towards a future-proof energy supply: The municipal council adopted the municipal heating plan. With this decision, the municipality is presenting a strategic roadmap that shows how the local heat supply can be made climate-friendly, efficient and reliable in the coming years.

Heat planning forms the basis for making greater use of renewable energies, developing existing infrastructures in a targeted manner and informing citizens and companies about prospects and possible connection options at an early stage. It thus creates planning security for private households, businesses and public institutions.

With the resolution that has now been passed, the association municipality is entering the next phase: the concrete implementation of the measures and close cooperation with the local municipalities, energy suppliers and other regional players. The aim is to advance the local heat transition in a joint, transparent and economically viable manner.
