Information Security

The municipality of Winnweiler attaches great importance to the secure and responsible handling of information and data. Information security is an essential part of daily administrative work and a prerequisite for a functional and reliable digital administration.

A cooperation agreement was concluded with Securion Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH and the municipality of Kirchheimbolanden back in 2017 to support this process. The aim is to continuously develop information security and to meet the increasing digital requirements in a structured manner.

The focus here is in particular on

• the continuous improvement of the level of information security,
• the protection of personal and sensitive data,
• compliance with data protection regulations and
• raising employees' awareness of how to handle information and IT systems.

The tasks in the area of information security are carried out through the coordinated interaction of various functions within and outside the administration. The following are involved:

• the external information security officer,
• the office management of the association municipality,
• the information security coordinator of the municipality,
• the IT of the municipal administration and
• the data protection officer of the municipality.

In this way, the municipality of Winnweiler ensures that information security is understood as an ongoing process and is permanently anchored in administrative procedures.
