Third Fire Station Built Using Modular Wood Construction Inaugurated – Börrstadt Celebrates with an Ecumenical Service and an Open House

Following the successful inaugurations of the fire stations in Steinbach and Breunigweiler, the third fire station—built using modular wood construction—was also officially inaugurated in Börrstadt on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The project is part of an innovative concept for serial timber-frame modular construction and is funded by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as part of the “Klimabündnis Bauen” program.

The dedication ceremony began at 10:00 a.m. with an ecumenical service and the blessing of the new fire station. This was followed by the official opening, featuring welcoming remarks. A special highlight was the handover of the new rescue and firefighting vehicle to the Börrstadt Fire Department. The event concluded with an open house, which provided a wonderful setting thanks to a varied program for people of all ages.

With the new fire station in Börrstadt, the region is once again demonstrating its commitment to sustainable construction and modern fire protection infrastructure.
