In 2026, the local community of Falkenstein and the tourism office of the municipality of Winnweiler are once again inviting visitors to the popular "Falkenstein Summer Tours". Visitors can expect a varied program of guided hikes, atmospheric themed evenings and special nature experiences around the imposing Falkenstein castle ruins.
The anniversary tour "Legendary Falkenstein" kicks off on 22 May, taking participants on a romantic evening hike into the world of regional legends and songs. This is followed at the end of June by "A Midsummer Night's Dream", a mystical hike to places shrouded in legend in the Falkenstein mountains.
The program also offers a special highlight for families: on the "Tritsch, Tritsch ruft's aus dem Wald" tour on 18 July, young and old adventurers go in search of the mysterious Elwetritschen together. An extraordinary nature experience is the focus of the "Space Night Tour" on 12 August: in addition to a partial solar eclipse, participants can also experience the shooting star night of the Perseids. Hiking enthusiasts will get their money's worth on the hut hike "Komm doch, mit auf den Kupferberg!" on August 23. The tour combines impressive views over the Northern Palatinate with a leisurely stop for refreshments. The popular castle tours by moonlight, which take place at the end of August and in September and allow visitors to experience the impressive Falkenstein castle ruins in a special light, are also an integral part of the event series.
