"Legendary Falkenstein" opens the Falkenstein summer tours 2026

This year's "Falkenstein Summer Tours" start on Friday, May 22, 2026 with the themed hike "Legendary Falkenstein". The two-hour guided hike combines nature experiences, history and regional storytelling traditions around Falkenstein Castle. The focus is on poems, songs, old legends and sometimes humorous stories ("Stickelscher") about the castle and its former inhabitants. A "murder story" also provides exciting insights into times gone by and brings historical events to life.

The route leads along the panoramic trail through the "Schelmenkopf" nature reserve and the Falkenstein mountains. The castle complex is circumnavigated in a 360-degree arc, with different viewing axes making the once imposing fortress with its massive defenses clearly comprehensible.

The hike starts at 18:00 at the Grafenquelle (fountain) in the center of the village. Parking is available there and at the cemetery. Sturdy footwear is recommended. The event marks the start of this year's summer tours and invites you to discover the Falkenstein region from a special, legendary perspective.
