Swim&Run at the Winnweiler Outdoor Pool: Athletic Success Raises 1,340 Euros for a Good Cause

On August 30, the municipality’s popular Swim&Run event took place once again at the Winnweiler outdoor pool. In perfect weather, nearly 200 athletes competed against each other in various distances—from short-distance to long-distance, there was something for every age and skill level.

The smooth running of the event and the safety of the participants were ensured by the dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers and our partner organizations: In addition to the Winnweiler Gymnastics Club 1876 e.V., the Winnweiler branch of the German Life-Saving Association (DLRG), the German Red Cross, and the volunteer fire department supported the event. Local partners also played a key role in the event’s success. For example, the VPV Generalagentur Schleppe provided meals for the athletes, while Horst Ultes and the Laufladen Kaiserslautern supported the event with in-kind donations.

The entry fees generated total proceeds of 1,340 euros, which will be donated to the Pflasterstube in Kaiserslautern. The organization is dedicated to providing medical care to homeless people and those without health insurance.

“With this donation, we would like to support the valuable work of the Pflasterstube,” emphasized Mayor Jacob. To conclude the event, he, along with co-organizer Steffen Brack and Rasim Nazifi, a specialist at the Winnweiler outdoor pool, presented the symbolic donation check to Andreas Keller, pastor of the Catholic parish of St. Martin.
