The Winnweiler Municipal Association is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the position of [position] at the Winnweiler Elementary School / Winnweiler Realschule plus as soon as possible.
School Custodian (m/f/d)
This is a full-time, permanent position. The position is classified in pay grade 7 in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for the public sector.
Your responsibilities will include, in particular:
- Technical Support: Independent operation and continuous monitoring of building services systems, particularly heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems, as well as digital locking and alarm systems.
- Facilities Management: Performing minor repairs, maintenance, and upkeep in the school building and gym.
- Outdoor Facilities Maintenance: Maintaining and keeping clean the entire school grounds, green spaces, and sports facilities, as well as reliably providing winter maintenance services (duty to ensure public safety).
- On-site contact person: Collaboration and coordination with school administrators, teaching staff, and the school district. Supervision and orientation of external tradespeople and service providers.
- Workplace Safety: Ensuring order and safety throughout the school grounds, including regular inspections.
Your profile:
- Qualifications: Successfully completed vocational training in a recognized, relevant skilled trade, preferably in the field of electrical, heating, plumbing, or HVAC technology, or a comparable skilled trade qualification.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of operating modern technical systems.
- Personal Skills: A high degree of reliability, manual dexterity, organizational and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Social Skills: Enjoyment of working with children and teenagers, a friendly and confident demeanor, and strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours (shifts in the early morning, during winter road maintenance, and occasionally at evening or weekend events).
- Mobility: Must hold a valid Class B driver's license (preferably BE).
